Cal Traylor

He was born in New Mexico. His grandfather with family arrived in New Mexico in 1905 by emigrant train to homestead near Elida. His paternal ancestors arrived in Virginia before 1682.

He has an MBA degree. He has professed at the NMSU, Deming, and WSMR campuses  in accounting, management, and marketing.. He owned several businesses, and retired as a self employed investment banker.

1964 - He joined the , and the Dona Ana County Archaeological Society; and twice was president of both groups. He was the first life member of both groups. He also was president of other groups. In this early era he published history articles.

He is a Paul Harris Fellow, and a Fellow of the Midwestern Epigraphic Society, and a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels:  Col. Cal.

He is married to Frances. They have no children.

Moved to Las Cruces about 5 years ago. A published writer, he is working with Cal on an area history.
